Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us if you cannot find an answer to your question!

  • No, you do not need a referral to access our Occupational Therapy services.
You are welcome to contact us directly to arrange an appointment for your child.
  • If you would like to claim a Medicare rebate, you will need a referral from your GP (General Practitioner) as part of a specific care plan.
  • If you have any questions about referrals or rebates, please get in touch – we are happy to guide you through the process and help you access the support your child needs.

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance.
  • If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, you do not attend your appointment, or you are not available at the agreed time and place, the full session fee may be charged.
  • For NDIS participants, any cancellation fees will be charged in accordance with the National Disability Insurance Scheme Pricing Arrangements and Guidelines.

  • Occupational therapy helps children and young adults develop the skills they need for daily life, play, and learning. Our paediatric occupational therapists work with kids to improve their motor skills, sensory processing, daily living skills and social-emotional development, empowering them to participate fully in school, at home, and in the community. We tailor our approach to each child's unique needs, fostering independence and confidence.
  • ‘Occupations’ are activities that we do in everyday life. These are the things that we want, need, and are expected to do as an individual, as part of a family, and as part of a group or community.

You have several options for funding your child’s Occupational Therapy sessions:

  • NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme)
    • We are able to support both self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants.

  • Private Paying
    • You can choose to pay for sessions privately, without the need for a referral or funding plan.

  • Medicare Plans
    • If your child is eligible, your GP can provide a referral under a Medicare plan, which allows you to claim a Medicare rebate for a set number of sessions each year.
    • Please note: A GP referral is required to access Medicare rebates.
